What to expect in F1 in 2025: New Driver Line-ups
The 2025 F1 season is set to begin in less than a month and with it comes new driver lineups. Let’s dive into the most anticipated season yet.
Lewis Hamilton moves to Ferrari for the 2025 F1 season, first announced in 2024 replacing Carlos Sainz who joined Williams alongside his new teammate Alex Albon while Max Verstappen who still has a contract with Red Bull was rumoured to replace Lewis Hamilton in Mercedes which turned out to be just a rumour. His teammate, Sergio Perez signed a contract extension till 2026 but later on came to an agreement with Red Bull to terminate said contract due to his poor performance. His seat will be replaced by Liam Lawson originally from the sister team Visa Cashapp RB. Will he thrive in the new environment or will the pressure of the top seat get to him?
Meanwhile Charles Leclerc will stay at Ferrari for a couple more years at least and the same goes for Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris at Mclaren and Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll at Aston Martin. George Russell will stay at Mercedes along with his new teammate Kimi Antonelli the rookie driver who has to prove to everyone that he's the next Max Verstappen. Yuki Tsunoda will stay at Visa Cashapp RB for the 2025 F1 season alongside his teammate Isack Hadjar who took up the vacant seat.
Nico Hulkenberg joins Kick Sauber alongside the rookie Gabriel Bortoleto after leaving Haas while his teammate Kevin Magnussen left the sport altogether who's seat is taken up by Oliver Bearman. Whereas for Alpine, Pierre Gasly signed a contract extension and his teammate Esteban Ocon left the team and got replaced by reserve driver Jack Doohan.
Valterri Bottas and Zhou Ganyu leave the sport although due to poor performance and lack of seats.
